  5. COLOR CROSS is an abstract and unusual two-player strategy game. Players
  6. take turns maneuvering their pieces across colored trails, positioning
  7. them to attack (freeze) their opponent's pieces and to rescue (thaw)
  8. their own. With each turn, the pieces interact with the terrain of
  9. colored trails and modify the terrain by leaving trails of their own. The
  10. first player to freeze all his opponent's pieces wins the game.

  12. COLOR CROSS is the first in a prospective trilogy of two-player strategy
  13. games together with BATTLE CHARGE and TUNNEL WAR (unfinished). The games
  14. are linked in general character and by parallels and contrasts among
  15. their specific properties. The game boards are fully editable, and
  16. players can experiment by varying the piece parameters (numbers, types
  17. and positions) and board terrain.
